Tyre & Rim Insurance
Tyre and Rim Insurance is designed to provide cover if your motor vehicle's tyres are punctured, suffer a blowout, or are damaged by various road hazards. It also provides cover for damage to wheel rims, also, as a result of specified road hazards.
To apply for Tyre and Rim Insurance, your vehicle must be comprehensively insured.
Tyre Cover
For motor vehicles there are two levels of tyre cover. The standard policy provides a maximum benefit level designed to cover the cost of repair or replacement of a conventional tyre.
For more expensive tyres, such as run-flats, the Prestige policy provides a higher maximum level of cover designed to meet the cost of a tyre's repair or replacement.
Wheel Rim Cover
Both the Standard and Prestige policies provide the same maximum benefit level designed to cover the cost of repairing or replacing a wheel rim in the event of their damage by specified hazards.
Emergency Accommodation
There is also an optional Emergency Accommodation benefit designed to cover the cost of emergency accommodation where such an expense is the result of tyre or wheel rim damage and we have accepted the claim. The incident that causes the claim must occur at a location that is more than a specified distance from the insured's home. Maximum benefit limits apply.
